Here Lately...

Wow, where has the time gone?  We were thinking just the other day that we had so much to blog about and haven't done so in forever because we've just been sooo busy with our exciting lives and all.  We have gone walking through sketch neighborhoods (by pure accident of course), attended a crawfish boil, caught a couple of movies, and even spent some time in the big city, Dallas.  But before we get started, there is something that has been brought to our attention that should DEFINITELY be cleared up.

Apparently our last blog gave off the impression that Mekayla and I are lesbian roommates.  Sorry to disappoint anyone, but this definitely not true.  It appears the media is already starting to create scandalous rumors about us, but being a celebrity comes at a price, I guess.  We just thought this would be a fun thing to do with our extra time.  Well now that this rumor has been cleared up, let's get started.

I believe the first thing on our agenda is when we decided to go to the park downtown to take Lailee, Mekayla's dog, for a walk.  The park ended up being smaller than we had imagined and was also the jr.high hang out spot, so we decided to go walking through the neighborhoods in that area instead.  The homes around the park were very nice, so we didn't think twice about wondering off even though it was late in the evening and starting to get dark.  We ended up taking a few wrongs turns and into scary neighborhoods with loud music, cigarettes buds everywhere, and homes with bars on the windows.  We stuck out like sharks in a lake.  But not to worry, we made it out safely.  It would have been a shame if we missed Capt'n Ron's Annual Crawfish Boil.

As what is sure to be the last crawfish boil, it was a blast.  Laying out poolside eating freshly boiled crawfish, jambalaya, bean gumbo, and more salads than you have ever seen in your life couldn't have been any better.  Especially when you have a few cold beverages to wash it all down with and karaoke afterwards.  Needless to say, it was a good Labor Day weekend.  Here are a few pictures so you can get the idea.

To follow that weekend up, we went to see a couple of movies the next week.  "Sex and the City 2" was much better than what the critics made it out to be.  The first was funnier, but the second film is still worth watching.  Later that week, we also went to watch "The Killers."  We both agreed that this is probably the best movie that we have seen in a long time.  Now we could be biased about this one, but what else can we say besides Ashton Kutcher is smokin' hot and could make any movie worth watching.  Let's just say that jaws dropped every time there was a scene with him topless...

(See what we mean. Smokin' hot.)

Finally, we ended our busy week with a trip to Dallas yesterday (Sunday).  During the week, one of Mekayla's younger sisters had surgery which consisted of getting bars put in to her chest.  Her sister made it through the surgery and is recovering very well.  The doctors were impressed.  She is just sore now and is going to have to take it easy for a few months.  Anyway, Mekayla had been in Dallas most of the week with her family but had to come back to Tyler to take care of a few things.  We then decided to both go to Dallas yesterday and just make a day of it.  After church, we headed to the mall in Frisco, followed by some delicious mexican food at El Guapos in Denton, and then headed to the hospital to visit her sister.  The most exciting part of the trip was probably when we discussed and discovered the meaning of a few things though.

Surely we have all heard the song "Stanky Leg," right?  In the song there is part talking about doing "the booty dew."  After hearing a while back what "booty dew" was, I was telling Mekayla when it dawned on us what the "stanky leg" was all about.  Now this gets pretty, um, gross, but just bear with us.  "Booty dew" is probably exactly what you are imagining it to be, dew.  That's precisely what it is coming from your "booty."  Now the "stanky leg" is the part where you stick your leg out and rotate it around.  This is apparently the attempt to "fan" the "dew" out.  Enough said.  We also discovered what P.Diddy feels like when he wakes up the morning, but we'll leave that for another time.

Our next blog should be very exciting since this is probably the last blog before Mekayla turns 21.  We have only been talking about this day for about 6 and a half months beginning the day after I turned 21.  We'll try not to be so long in between next time.  Our posts are looking more like novels than short blogs.  Until next time....
